Introduction

I'm a personal trainer based in the New York metro area ready to help you reach your fitness and physique goals. I have been training for ten years and enjoy working with a wide variety of clients: kids and teens, seniors, those with special needs, dietary restriction and post injury rehab and strengthening. I love working with people and value all of my clients. I work both in gyms (semi private in Queens and Manhattan and building/home gyms) and virtually. In my training I employ movements that build structural integrity, strength and a symmetric physique and scale them appropriately to the client's abilities. I believe form is paramount to training safely and effectively. As a type one diabetic and celiac, I also have a unique and extensive background in nutrition and various diets, and have helped create better dietary habits and strategies consistent with client goals and lifestyles. If you are a self starter who wants guidance and accountability OR are simply looking for a more budget option, I offer online coaching as well. The price for this service ($120) is on a PER MONTH basis. With this service you receive a unique exercise plan, nutrition plan/review of your current nutrition, weekly check ins, form checks, and on the fly adjustment of your routine and diet based on schedule, goals, lifestyle and progress. Please message me for more details regarding rates, packages, training locations, or just to chat to see if we are a good fit.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
My in person training rate is inclusive of some gym and travel costs. In certain situations where there is no fee I may be able to offer a slight discount and some gyms charge more than others so there is some variation. Feel free to message. I offer discounts on packages as well. My online coaching fee is PER MONTH!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
First we discuss goals, lifestyle and health with regard to training, and past health and training history. After some assessments, I communicate where they stand and what my plan would be for helping them achieve their goals both from an exercise, lifestyle, and nutritional perspective. We then work out some short term goals to help us get there.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I am NASM certified, have liability insurance, CPR/AED certification, and specializations in youth and senior fitness, and nutrient timing.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I started lifting for my own health and as a hobby, and I got interested in gaining as much knowledge as I could about it. This evolved into helping others and then training people professionally.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
All types - I train children, adolescents, seniors, and everyone in between. I've worked with all experience levels and sometimes with people rehabbing and correcting injuries.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
All physiques and bodies are ongoing projects and I'm fond of all the work I do with my clients! Two stand out to me. First, a young adult with Asperger's who at the conclusion of our time together had gone from a lack of body awareness and confidence to becoming more athletic, improving his muscle mass and feeling more comfortable in his body. Second, a 73 year old old gentleman with no formal training or exercise history being able to do 72 pushups on his 72nd birthday (over a few sets - he's not superman!) and "bounding" up the stairs to his home. I am most proud of changng quality of life and self image.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
First and foremost, it's important to find someone who is accredited and has the appropriate professional background. Beyond that, while there are differences in personality and type of energy a trainer can bring to a session, an optimal trainer will be able to find deficits, work with you to create realistic goals, and come up with a plan to achieve them. There are no one size fits all programs. Each person needs individualized attention and programming - all bodies are different. Find someone who will lay out a path for you to follow and make adjustments as necessary.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
What are my goals - specifically? How much time and effort will I be able to commit to this? What is my budget? What is the value of achieving my goals?
