Introduction

Every time you walk into our facility, we hope you feel valued, encouraged, and challenged. Your workout is important to us, but you can workout anywhere. There's much more to what we do than just kicking your butt and making you sweat. There are a lot of fitness professionals who will take your money as long as you're willing to hand it over. They'll allow you to go through the motions, complain when you don't comply, and let you feel good about the idea of health without holding you accountable for results. We are not those trainers. We ask that you check your negativity at the door. We're going to give you our relentless effort, including additional support outside of your workouts. We simply ask for your best effort and coachability in return. We absolutely love the members who train with us! The community they have created is supportive, encouraging, & results-driven. Our members supportive each other by picking each other up when they're down. They encourage each other every single day during their training sessions. And they help each other get results by pushing each other to be better. We love our members & the community at EP Newark, & you will too!

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
We offer a discount for active military personnel, military veterans, police, firefighters, & EMS.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
We will initially meet for a consultation to see if we are a good fit. During the consultation we will discuss your goals, your current training regimen (if any), your nutrition habits, past injuries, your availability, & anything else significant to your fitness. We will also get your baseline measurements: weight, body fat, & circumference measurements. You will also go through an assessment to determine flexibility, strength, mobility, balance, & endurance.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I am a 2004 graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University with a BA in Physical Education. I earned a Master of Science (MS) degree from California University of Pennsylvania in Exercise Science & Health Promotion: Performance Enhancement & Injury Prevention concentration. I am certified through the National Academy of Sports Medicine as a Performance Enhancement Specialist.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I have been in the fitness & nutrition field since 2004. As a collegiate athlete, I developed a passion for fitness. I decided to carry my passion for health, wellness, fitness, nutrition, & sports into my career. I have spent the last 14 years working with all types of individuals & groups with all types of goals. I make it my purpose to help you achieve your goals.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

I loved working with a member named Victoria! You can see her before & after pictures in our portfolio. Victoria came to us with a desire to join the United States Navy, yet she was not nearly in the shape you need to be for basic training. She worked hard, followed our nutrition coaching, & in just 3 months, Victoria lost 23 pounds, over 6% body fat, & 19 inches! Here is what Victoria had to say after she finished basic training: "I wanted to say again how amazing Elite Performance is! I just graduated boot camp and the best decision I made was to train with Charlie and Tami before leaving. I passed all my PT test the first time no problem, and when we got dropped I pushed out the push ups and other workouts like a boss! ok, ok, I did get tired after a bit lol. But point is that I never felt like I couldn't do it and I never stopped because I had trained and prepared with Charlie and Tami. And I also was able to lose 2 more inches off my waist because I learned from Charlie and Tami what to put in my body and the better choices to make. There were many people who gained wait at boot camp, but I wasn't one :) So train with Charlie and Tami! And if you are wanting to join the military and are worried about boot camp, Call EP!!!! I only got to train with them for 3 months and it made a HUGE difference. I love EP and will always recommend and support them!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Make sure the trainer you hire is going to develop a specific program for you. You are the one paying for the service. A one-size-fits-all approach doesn't work. Your program needs to take into account your goals, your current fitness/ability level, & any past injuries. Make sure your trainer is focused on YOU.
