Introduction

****** studio location Irving Texas 75061***** I understand that, generally speaking, going to "the gym" on your own on regular basis can be difficult - if not close to impossible. We all have busy lives with spouses, kids and work. Finding the time to go to the gym and get an effective workout can be elusive. I understand there's more to life than just the gym, and with this understanding, we'll be able to connect more thoroughly, which in turn can deliver faster, more effective results in less time. I take great pride in helping people not only overcome physical barriers like losing weight or building muscle, but mental obstacles that hold them back as well. I understand that each person is different, which makes them unique. Personal training is more than just weight loss and muscle gain. It's about feeling more confident, being healthier, and developing and maintaining habits that will stick with you for the rest of your life!

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
My rates depend on the duration of our session (30/60 minutes), how many times per week we see each other, and how long you commit to the training program. I truly want to help people reach their goals and change their lives and I don’t want cost to be a hindrance. So, I provide a variety of payment plans to accommodate everyone’s budget. When we meet for your free consultation, I will share with you all of my options so you have the ability to work with a trainer on a payment plan that fits your needs.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
My biggest goal for new clients is to have them be as comfortable as possible. I strive to be as transparent and non-judgmental as possible because If I were in there shoes, that Is the last thing I would want. After meeting, we would go out on the floor and literally find their strengths and weaknesses. I screen clients for posture, movement compensations, and muscular imbalances so as to not create or exacerbate any new or reoccurring injuries.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I received my bachelors of science in Kinesiology (the study of human movement) at Abilene Christian University in Abilene, Texas. Certifications: 1) National Strength & Conditioning Association: Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (NSCA- CSCS) 2) National Academy of Sports Medicine: Certified Personal Trainer (NASM- CPT) 3) American Heart Association: First Aid, CPR, and AED Internships: 1) Abilene Christian University (Abilene, TX) Strength and Conditioning 2) Ramona High School (Ramona, CA) JV/Varsity Football Strength and Conditioning

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
For me, my love for exercise and fitness started when I was a freshman in high school playing football and baseball. That was my introduction in organized exercise and strength training. I received a scholarship to play football at ACU, then a D-2 powerhouse program with an excellent strength and conditioning program. I majored in Kinesiology (the study of human movement science), so for me it was a natural progression. After my internships I started training a gym in San Diego CA where I learned the in's and out's of the business and realized that personal training is a lot more than just "coaching" an individual or a group, it's curating relationships and getting people to believe not just in you because you're helping them, but more importantly them believing in themselves again.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
My clientele list includes people from a wide range of abilities, such as, individuals with limited or no training experience, individual's needing to break plateaus, gain muscle, lose weight, get more toned, rehabilitation, increase strength, youth sports performance, all the way up to collegiate and professional athletes.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
I am proud of every client I have ever worked with because it takes much courage to step out of ones comfort zone and ask for help, it's letting yourself be vulnerable, and that is absolutely not a bad thing! One client in particular came to me February 1st 2018, about 41 years of age, with fear and uncertainty in her eyes. She wasn't sure about hiring a personal trainer, having never exercised in her life. She didn't know what to expect, or if it was worth it, or if she would even see any improvements in her health. We started out training twice per week for a couple months. Her attitude was changing week after week, noticeably becoming more comfortable with what she was doing, and comfortable being around new people. We found that she had lost a couple inches off her waist, and that she was getting stronger in her core and upper body. She asked if it we can try three sessions a week, to kind of speed up the process and because she was enjoying herself during the workouts. Her lower body strength and her coordination was drastically improving! After that month, she bumped it to four sessions per week. We kept at it that way for three more months. She ended up losing eight precent body fat and thirty pounds, fitting into a pair of jeans she kept since she was 22. I am proud of her physical accomplishments, but that pales in comparison to her newly found self-confidence on an emotional level. She went from a scared and meek woman in her 40's to a confident, powerful, life-loving woman! It is those internal transformations that give me the joy of doing what I do. I am here to help improve peoples quality of life, not to just decrease a number on a scale.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
It is my opinion that the value of the relationship between the client and the trainer cannot be overstated. A true understanding of what someone wants out of fitness - which is much more than just weight loss or muscle gain - is the key. I would recommend to meet with the trainer and make sure there's a comfort level from a personality standpoint. The trainer should be educated, qualified to help, and most importantly, a good person that is willing to listen to, potentially, real struggles that people are living with on a daily basis.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
If they are truly ready to make the commitment to change their lives, they then have to be ready to trust in their trainer that he or she will get them to where they need to be. Also knowing, that there will be peaks and valleys along their fitness journey and having a strong relationship and belief in their trainer is very important. All this does develop over time, however having patience and trust in your trainer and yourself is imperative.
