Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
My pricing for each session is dependent on the number of days the client wants to train each week. But I'm willing to work with each client from a financial perspective to help a potential client get in shape.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I will first give each client a free consultation (fitness goals, any physical challenges, session rate, number of days wanting to train, nutrition) and workout so that both sides get to know one another and determine if it's a good fit. If the client decides to utilize my services, we then set a schedule for training, the expectations of myself as a trainer and the client, and a overview of what body parts that will be trained each session each week.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I'm an ACE (American Council on Exercise) certified trainer. I also have a MBA in Business Administration and Project Management

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I've been strength training since 2002 and through trial and error with my own training as well as with the help of trainer buddies and others who are in the fitness industry has given me the knowledge and experience to effectively change the body physically for the better. I want to help people that either have zero knowledge, or are wanting to get back in shape and I understand the struggle with fitness as I’ve battled weight issues most of my life. So I sympathize with any and everyone that has had enough with being in an unhealthy state.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I've worked with kids, clients with heart conditions, physical limitations, and elderly clients. Pretty much all walks of life.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
A recent project would be a client of mine that wanted to compete in a transformation contest in 2018.. She’s a mother of 3 and works full time so it was challenging throughout the entire process. But she went from 27% body fat to 16% over a 6 month period and even though she did not win the contest, it was a win for her personally and I’m very proud of her for the effort and dedication she presented and showed!!!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
If you are looking for a personal trainer, you should decide more on what that trainer can do for you than the pricing of training. Not saying that price isn’t a factor, but you would want a personal trainer that knows what they are doing and can actually help you. There are a lot of trainers that know how to train themselves, but cannot train people because they never take the time to fully asses and understand the potential client. If I was searching for a personal trainer, I would rather have someone that is a really good trainer and pay what they deserve, than pay a trainer that can't get the results for a client. Free consultations and a workout will test drive a trainer and you can make your decision a lot better than someone talking and not showing anything.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Before a client thinks about utilizing the services of a personal trainer, first ask yourself are you ready? Mentally and physically are you ready.. Then ask yourself will I dedicate myself and not waste my time or the trainers time.. Then ask yourself what number of days you want to start and what is my budget for training... Last ask yourself what value will you place or priority will you place on training from a perspective of importance. Do you want a better and healthier life, or are you satisfied with where you are. Especially if you have kids, you have to ask yourself do you want to be there for your kids later in life, and also do you want to feel good about yourself if you feel you need to get in shape.
