Introduction

I have over 25 years experience as an NASM/AFAA Certified Personal Trainer. I specialize in time-efficient training, helping each client get the most out of his or her workout in less time, due to the busy-paced life many people have. I also offer 45 minute sessions if preferred. I recently opened my own local Personal Training studio, ‘Transitions Fitness,’ offering private and small group sessions. I am a TLS Weight Loss Coach and Certified LifeBase Solutions Nutrition Coach, specializing in health and wellness and weight loss, giving guidance to people on what to eat and when, and proper supplementation according to a client’s free weight loss profile. I design workout and nutrition guidance specific to each person’s needs and desires. Providing accountability and sustainability is a priority to me in each person's fitness journey. It is truly rewarding to see the transformations that take place in people's lives both physically and emotionally.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
I charge per hour but I break those sessions into 1/2 hour sessions giving a client a longer duration of time with me. For example: four - one hour sessions would break down to 8 half hour sessions. I charge $45.00 per one-hour session. If 12 sessions are purchased up front, I give a client 10% off the total. A contract is signed and payment is made up front. If a client wants there sessions to be one hour, I will gladly train for one hour instead of a half hour.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I generally set up an initial meeting to get to know each other and find out what his or her basic goals are and discuss in more detail what I offer as a Personal Trainer and Health Coach. From there, I have them fill out a physical readiness questionnaire, take measurements, weight, and do a body fat analysis. I will generally do a squat assessment to see where muscle imbalances might be and determine what their CORE strength is.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I have NASM and AFAA Personal Training Certifications. I hold a certificate for Sports Nutrition and I am a Transitions Weight Loss Solution Coach. I also have an INSANITY Live Certification and Cycle Certification and Kickboxing Certification and many more.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I was an avid gym goer. I loved taking exercise classes, so I enquired at the gym I was at about teaching group exercise classes. So, teaching exercise classes was where I began. I loved it so much, I wanted to help people more on an individual, personal basis, so I got my Personal Training Certification a couple years later. I have been involved in the fitness industry for 17 years.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I have worked with a very diverse population: from young men & young women to athletes and seniors.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
My NASM Personal Training Certification. It was very challenging and it took me six months to complete. I passed the first exam I took.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
I would suggest meeting with them first to see if they are a good fit. Ask for credentials and how long they have been a Certified Personal Trainer. I would also suggest asking if they have any additional certifications or trainings that compliment their Personal Trainer Certification.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
How committed they are to their fitness goals; short term as well as long term goals and what their diet is like and have they dieted before. Do they work out, and if so, what have they been doing for exercise.
