What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I am a NASM certified personal trainer who played semi-professional soccer in the United Kingdom, has about 5-6 years of karate training, and moved over from calisthenics style training to weight training. What this means is that most of my training sessions are a combination of all these various disciplines. I have trained college athletes, stroke rehabilitation patients, marathon runners, and pretty much every one in between from all works of life, from ages 4 - 67.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I have been into fitness for most of my life. When i started karate, i was trained to lead the class when i got to a brown belt level. This usually starts from understanding stretching and the progression of a workout session. From there, I improved on my body weight work, and karate helped a lot with building the discipline required for body weight training, which I would tell you from experience is A LOT! I graduated from that, and in college, while getting my masters in geophysics, I got into personal training, and I got my certifications and I have basically been doing this ever since. I have enjoyed seeing the excitement of people who finally have to change their entire closet because their old clothes don't fit anymore, or they finally see their abs, etc. It is a very rewarding job, and i am happy i get the chance to help people experience the joys and satisfaction of becoming a better version of themselves.
