Introduction

My 20+ years of professional experience has given me the opportunity to understand a wide variety of client needs and how to most efficiently help people reach their goals. When people take care of themselves, it allows them to also be the best they can in other areas of their lives; family, friends, work, and community. Listening to our bodies and knowing when to push, when to rest, and how to balance these is key to long-term well-being! I love working with people to help improve their quality of life in realistic ways. We will work together to customize your workout plan to fit your lifestyle. I have worked with a diverse population and have become experienced in working with various injuries (past and present), as well as health conditions that may seem like a limitation, but together we will focus on what CAN be done to continue moving forward! I seek to empower my clients with the knowledge and tools to maximize their health and well-being for the long-term.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
I have low overhead and aim to pass those savings on to my clients! My prices range from $50-70/session, on average. I offer discounts based on weekly training frequency, private partner training, and referrals. I have a detailed "Prices and Services" document that explains all the services I offer and the prices.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I want to help you reach your goals as efficiently and effectively as possible. We'll begin with an initial meeting to discuss what you're looking to accomplish by working with me, where you're currently at, your background, injury history, past experience, etc. I will also do a movement assessment with you, answer questions, and gather all pertinent information to best help me help You!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I have my Bachelors in Science with my major in Exercise Science and Wellness, from Bastyr University in 2003. I maintain a certification through the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) as an Exercise Physiologist, from 2004-present.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
Obesity is a prevalent issue in my family. I became passionate about health and wellness as a young teenager. It's empowering to learn that we can do so much to affect how we feel and look, in spite of our genetic predispositions. I love helping others improve their own quality of life. Movement is a gift and taking care of our bodies over time makes a significant difference in how we experience the aging process, allowing us to maximize joy and independence over the long haul!

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Men and women, aged 14-100! (I worked in private, assisted living homes for over 15 years. I also did private training with a woman from the time she was 89-96!) I have had a client with a frontal lobe brain injury since 2010 as well. The majority of my clients have been 30-75 with a wide range of goals, abilities and injury history. I particularly love teaching those who are new to fitness and come in with an open mind and positive attitude!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
I encourage clients to be open to the process of improving in small ways on a regular basis. It's not about being perfect, it's about learning and growing and trusting that consistency is key!

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Know what you're willing to commit to and what is realistic to be consistent with (which will require some effort and planning) in your life.
