Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
Pricing is for customers in the Duvall, WA area. For those more than a 10 minute drive price increases by $5 for each ten miles up to a 40 minute drive from Duvall.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
We discuss goals, past medical history, fitness experience and then have an initial evaluation to test muscle strength, balance, ROm ect. After performing an initial evaluation will come up with a custom exercise plan for the client to follow for 6 weeks. After 6 weeks have the option to continue if myself and client admired to this.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
Doctorate of Physical Therapy (Baylor University) BS in Exercise Science (Western Oregon University) Social Science minor (Western Oregon University) ACSM certified personal training.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
After struggling with weight throughout my childhood I discovered a love for health and fitness, and the newfound confidence that I had. I wanted to give back to other folks and after training for a few years decided to get my doctorate in physical therapy to help more folks with a variety of conditions.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Generally individuals looking to lose weight. However, I have worked with Parkinson's, stroke and concussion patients. Folks with a variety of pain presentations and even high level athletes.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Make sure you are getting a trainer or professional with a solid education experience. NASM, ACSM or ACE are great certifications to see as these trainers have a greater educational background. True muscle strength can often take 6-8 weeks. Correct muscle timing and loosening of soft tissues can happen sooner but be patient, you will get there!

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Quality trainer will save you a ton in the long run to reach your goals effectively and without injury. Cheapest trainer is not always the best. Are my goals realistic? Have you seen anyone with my type of goals or condition before? Is this exercise right for me? What is the rationale for picking these exercises?
