Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
My pricing is designed to be transparent and reflect the quality, time, and care that goes into each session—from planning to final edits. Here are a few key things to know: -All-Inclusive Packages: Most of my sessions are priced as flat-rate packages, which include the shoot, editing, and a set number of high-resolution images. There are no hidden fees. -Travel Fees: I may charge a small travel fee for locations outside a certain distance, which we’ll discuss upfront so there are no surprises.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
When I work with a new client, my goal is to create a smooth, personalized experience from start to finish. Here's a typical process I follow: 1. I set up a consultation over the phone to understand their needs and goals for the shoot. We’ll go over things like the type of session, location, and overall vision. 2. Once we finalize the details, I send over a contract and invoice. A deposit secures the date, and everything is laid out clearly—no surprises. 3. On the day of the session, I guide my costumers through poses and interactions to capture natural, authentic moments. If this is an "event photoshoot" then I focus on capture candid key moments of the guests. 4. After the shoot, I professionally edit the best images and deliver them in an online gallery within the agreed-upon timeframe (usually a week after the shoot has taken place). 5. I check in after delivery to ensure the client is happy with their photos and answer any questions.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
My photography skills come from a mix of formal education, hands-on experience, and ongoing self-learning. Photography has always been a passion for me even when I was an undergrad in Graphic Design Communication. later on, I attended City College of San Francisco where I became a Photographer and later Photo Editor for their magazine Etc. Magazine for 3 consecutive semesters. Beyond that, I’ve spent years refining my craft through real-world sessions—everything from portraits, family sessions, events, branding shoots, etc. I also regularly invest time in online courses in order to stay updated on editing tools and industry trends to keep my work fresh and current.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
My photography journey started developing assignments for Etc. Magazine and The Guardsman newspaper back in 2018. Soon enough I realized that Photography gives me the chance to connect with people, tell their stories, and create something lasting—and that’s what keeps me inspired.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I have worked with a wide variety of costumers from: -Families: New borns, family photo shoots (holiday cards, birthdays) -Companies: LGBTQ Task Force 3 day conference, Shopify, Frog's Leap harvest and events, Wine release parties for Kasumi wines and Duncan Peak wines. -Entrepreneurs: product photography for That Napa Life, branding shoots

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
One recent project I’m especially proud of was a lifestyle branding shoot I did for a local small business owner launching her handmade shower steamers line. She wanted images that felt warm, authentic, and reflected the Napa Life vibe of her brand. I had complete creative freedom so I planned the session around the vineyards of the area which had the perfect natural light and vibe. The shoot itself took a few hours of the day, and I spent the next week carefully selecting and editing the best shots to match her brand aesthetic. What made it so special was how collaborative the process felt. Seeing her reaction when she got the final gallery—and then seeing those images featured on her website, ********* and selling stand at Stanley Ranch—was incredibly rewarding. It felt like more than just photos; it felt like helping bring someone’s vision to life.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Since we get charged for potential leads, look for someone whose style truly matches what you're envisioning before you contact. Every photographer has a different eye, editing approach, and way of working—so take time to explore portfolios and make sure their work speaks to you.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Before reaching out to a photographer, think through a few key questions: 1. What type of session do I need? 2. What is my goal for these photos? 3. What’s my ideal timeframe? 4. What’s my budget? 3. Where do I want the shoot to happen?
