Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
We offer packages tailored to specific sessions—like proposals, engagements, maternity, and more—but we’re always happy to work with you to find something that feels right for your needs and budget. Our pricing reflects the time we spend photographing on-site, any travel involved, and the care we put into editing your final gallery. Transparency and comfort are key—no surprises here!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
We respond pretty quickly—usually within 1–2 hours of your initial message! We’ll ask a few key questions to understand what you're looking for and to put together an accurate estimate. From there, we typically set up a quick call or Zoom to go over the big-picture details and make sure we're all aligned before moving forward.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
We’ve both been behind the camera for as long as we can remember! Alex studied Cinema & Television Arts at CSUF and now works in film production, bringing a cinematic eye to our shoots. Nick is completely self-taught—a true visual storyteller who’s spent years learning everything photography-related through hands-on experience and a whole lot of passion.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
We actually started out in wildlife photography, where we fell in love with capturing raw, emotional moments. That naturally evolved into photographing people—we offered free sessions to friends and family just for fun, and quickly realized how much we loved documenting real, meaningful moments in people’s lives. From there, it grew into something we couldn’t imagine not doing.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
We’ve had the joy of working with people from all walks of life—different cultures, backgrounds, and stories. No two sessions are ever the same, and that’s exactly what we love about it. It keeps things fresh, challenges us creatively, and reminds us that there’s no one-size-fits-all when it comes to capturing meaningful moments.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
We recently spent about three hours photographing an engagement session for a couple who wanted photos for their wedding website and Save the Dates. It was a bit longer than your average engagement shoot, but honestly—we didn’t even notice the time fly by. We had such a great time hanging out with them, witnessing their connection, and capturing those in-between moments. It ended up being one of the best Sundays we’ve had in a while!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Find someone whose style you genuinely connect with—and not just visually. You’ll be spending real time with your photographer, so it’s important to feel comfortable around them and trust their vision. Don’t be afraid to ask questions or share your ideas. A great photographer will want to collaborate with you and make the experience feel easy, fun, and true to who you are.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
It helps to have a few things in mind before we chat, like: – What kind of session are you looking for (engagement, family, maternity, etc)? – Do you have a date or location in mind? – Is there a specific vibe or style you’re going for? – How do you plan to use the photos (prints, Save the Dates, social media, etc)? - What’s your budget? Having an idea of what you’re comfortable spending helps us suggest the best options for your needs, including any additional services you might want. You don’t need to have all the answers—we’re here to help guide you! But thinking about these details can make the process even smoother from the start.
