Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
If you found me on here! Most likely I am offering a discount. I like to offers specials form time to time and love finding clients on Thumbtack.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I truly believe we should meet for coffee if we are meeting for a potential wedding. I think it is important to talk one on one to make sure we are good fit for each other. I know that sometimes that can't happen, so I offer the option to Factime or Skype. For family sessions I think a phone call or Skype call is best too!! Once we have met or talked, we can move on to the next part and talk about booking your date. Having good communication is super important to me.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I have been in the customer service field for a long long time. I am self taught as a photographer. I took marketing and business classes in college and they have helped me with my success with owning my photography business. I started mentoring new photographers two years ago and love helping them see how important it is to understand how to run a business give their clients the best experience. Just as I do!

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I have always loved photography. In high school I thought I would travel the world. But life just went a different way. As the years went on, I was still using my camera and taking pictures and really stumbled into it. I stared with families and children and then eventuality started to second shoot for photographers for weddings. I finally realized I loved weddings so much I decided tot do them too on my own. I find so much joy knowing that I am a part of such special memories. From weddings to family sessions. I love the legacy that I leave with all my clients.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I have worked with children, families, couples mostly. I have done corporate headshots and even worked with a local magazine in Jacksonville. My images have been featured in print and on web sites. I recently worked with a shoe line.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Always make sure you are a good fit for each other. Meet them, talk and make sure you both understand what the main goal is for your session or wedding. Don't be afraid to ask what type of equipment they have. Alway make sure they are a legal business and carry insurance. There are so many photographers that are wonderful at what they do, but may not have taken the steps to become legal. If something happens on your session or wedding day, you want to make sure they are covered so you are not stuck with law suit.
