What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Its typically broken up into two payments 1) Retainer fee: due upon signing and 2) the final payment: typically due on the date of the shoot. For weddings, its due 1 week before the wedding. This structure's typical in photography, if you're confused, happy to explain over a call!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

We hop on a quick phone call to discuss your needs, I'll share pricing, and if you're ready to go, I'll send the agreement. We'll do a pre-shoot call to ensure we're ready for the big day

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I worked for my church's media team for 5 years and invested hundreds of dollars into online education through Udemy and Creative Live courses on photography, photojournalism (Kristen Lewis), and color grading.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

My dad worked for the media group at our church and I got to play with his gear since I was 11. He eventually got me my own DSLR camera--a humble $150 Nikon D40. Since then, I've inherited his gear, upgraded, and eventually invested in my own equipment (Sony a7iii)

Musicians, families, and local small businesses

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Ask about how they teach customers to pose and how they deal with low lighting situations especially for events.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

1. How do you handle dark lighting? (Concert photography and weddings have taught me how to overcome AND even welcome darkness in my photos) 2. Especially for weddings/Events: What is communication like with you? How will you direct us and ensure we have strong poses? With me, every call starts with an agenda, and ends with me asking for your objections/concerns. Clear is kind!
