Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
I have standard pricing for headshots and portrait photography. Other than that, I'd have to get a feel for what the customer was looking for before I made an offer.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
My approach is to first communicate with you to confirm what you are attempting to portray in your photographs. If the goal is to simply apply a consistent look and feel for an ecommerce website, then my studio will be the location for your product shots. If the goal is to add natural backgrounds to headshots, then a location shot will be the most suitable, preferably during a nice sunny morning. If the product is real estate then of course lighting is the primary ingredient and I will make sure to shoot when the natural lighting is ideal. Once we have the agreement on the approach and the sizing specs for the images, we then begin the job. This allows for the quickest turnaround and leaves little room for inconsistency.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I have a bachelor's degree in computer science and Masters of Internet Technology from the University of Georgia. The nature of the industry caused me to add the skill of multimedia (photography and videography) and the passion has grown with experience.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
Building websites, customers would ask if I could produce professional images for products they sold. This is where the focus on product photography began. During the years of photographing products, I've been developing the portrait photography skill.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Politicians, doctors, lawyers, consulting firms, boutique stores, and most importantly PEOPLE!.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
A recent project was to shoot a political event where the politician would use the photos for press releases. The shoot lasted about 3 hours and it was a great experience in having to get good images with plenty of commotion.
