What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

My individual portrait sessions are normally $100 for every 30 minutes of shooting. However, because you found me on Thumbtack, your price is $75 for every 30 minutes of shooting! :-) Prices INCLUDE your edited digital photos, delivered within 3 business days!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I will ask you what you are looking for, and I will ask you for any special requests or style preferences you may have. That way, when I'm planning our photo shoot, I can incorporate what YOU want while also using my own vision and creativity to get photos that will capture you in your most authentic, beautiful light. :-)

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I learn by studying the works of portrait photographers I love. I have learned through several tutorial books as well as articles and YouTube videos. I have learned editing programs such as Gimp, Adobe Lightroom, and Capture One Pro. I currently shoot with a Canon mirrorless DSLR. I use a strobe light indoors (and sometimes outdoors) for optimal light!

How did you get started doing this type of work?

I began taking pictures of rural scenery and animals in the fall of 2013. Friends began asking me to take pictures of their families. I soon bought my first DSLR and started a website. My love of portrait photography was immediate, and it has never waned since!

What types of customers have you worked with?

I have worked with many families, couples, and individuals.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

My favorite portrait shoots have been with individuals. We have taken our time and had a lot of fun. I love walking around and finding unexpected nooks and backgrounds!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Hire someone whose photos you love and who you feel a personal connection with!
