Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
I offer fair and upfront pricing: $250 per hour with all of your edited, full resolution files included. I occasionally run sales on my website.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I like to start with a phone call or zoom meet to open communication and make sure that we’re a good fit! I am always open and honest about my pricing and what I can offer. If it’s a match I will email my contract and request a deposit of 25% to hold the date.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I have an art minor with an emphasis in photography from the University of Minnesota. I trained with two different portrait and wedding photographers in the twin cities and have completed several Photoshop and editing courses.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
In high school I had a part time job as a photographer’s assistant and I fell in love with the work. From there I became an associate photographer and then a wedding photo editor for a company based in Minneapolis. I started my own business in 2021 and I love capturing candid beautiful moments of people together.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I work with anyone and everyone! There is absolutely no discrimination allowed here. Every person and every love is beautiful.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
I love every time I get to photograph :)

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Take time to look at the style of different photographers to find one that matches what you’re looking for. Set up a consultation to make sure you can communicate with the photographer well and that you feel comfortable. And finally try to find someone that offers service within your budget and makes sense for you- there’s no reason to pay for extras that you don’t need!

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
I would ask a photographer to describe their style - both photographically and during the event. Not only do you want to like the look of your photos, you want to enjoy the experience! I often tell wedding customers I can be a fly on the wall or help with planning and be more directive - it is important to set this up before the big day!
