Introduction

📸 New York–based portrait photographer with 25+ years of experience capturing people at their best - naturally, confidently, and with style. After a decade working full-time behind the camera, I’ve returned to freelance work with a focus on expressive, story-driven portraits. Whether you need professional headshots, dating profile photos, or personal branding images, I create portraits that feel intentional and unmistakably you. What I bring to every shoot: – A calm, confident vibe that puts even first-timers at ease – Creative direction and light coaching throughout your session – Pro gear for rich tones and crisp detail – Natural, clean editing — no heavy filters, unless that’s your thing I specialize in portraits for creatives, entrepreneurs, and anyone looking to show up authentically. Let’s create something real. Quick heads up: This platform charges professionals a fee for each new inquiry, even before we’re booked. I’m happy to answer your questions and talk through your vision — just ask when you’re ready!

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
I offer flat-rate packages based on session type and length, with no surprise fees. Each package includes a curated set of retouched images, ready to use. Quick note: Thumbtack charges pros for every new lead, so I appreciate serious inquiries. Happy to talk through options once you reach out!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
We’ll start with a quick message or call to discuss what you’re looking for — whether it’s a dating profile refresh, personal brand portrait, or something more creative. I’ll guide you through prep (like wardrobe and location suggestions), then we’ll shoot at a relaxed pace. You’ll receive professional images you’re proud to share.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I have a BFA in Photography, but some of the most valuable lessons came from assisting commercial photographers early in my career. It was a priceless addition to my formal education, learning hands-on how to work with light, people, and creative direction on real-world shoots. That foundation shaped the way I approach every portrait today.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I started in editorial and event photography, drawn to real people and real moments. Over time, I developed a love for creating portraits that feel natural, not forced — the kind that tell a story with just a glance.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I’ve worked with professionals, musicians, actors, authors, entrepreneurs, and everyday folks who just want to look and feel like themselves on camera. Whether it’s your first photoshoot or your fiftieth, I tailor each session to your comfort and goals.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
I recently worked with an artist launching their website and social media — we shot in Brooklyn with natural light and a couple of wardrobe options. In under an hour, we captured bold, expressive portraits that helped them look confident and authentic online. That’s the magic I aim for every time.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Look for someone who makes you feel at ease and whose work feels true to you. A great photo isn’t just about lighting — it’s about connection. Don’t be afraid to ask questions, share inspiration, and make sure your photographer listens.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Think about what you need the images for — dating, branding, press, etc. Consider how you want to come across: casual, confident, polished, artistic? The more I know about your goals and personality, the better I can tailor the session to you.
