Introduction

Hey, I’m Remington Jay. I am a NYC photographer/videographer, producer, actor, and model. I spend most of my time shooting model portfolios for agencies, celebrity magazine editorials, and brand campaign and events! Some of my recent work I’m most proud of are shooting Macy’s Ecom for a few brands, Lala Anthony’s recent clothing line, TJ Max’s Law Roach campaign and show, the Dr. Oz show, a Facebook advertisement, A LOT of Bloomingdales, Neiman Marcus, and Lord and Taylors events, and much much more! You also can see me acting in the recent seasons of Hunters, Gotham, Younger, and Homicide Hunter! With my experience and education on both sides of the camera I have quite the edge that allows me to always bring something special to my work. My website has much more to see! I also have my own studio in Manhattan with a variety of lights and equipment located in Times Square!

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
That is built on their needs! I am happy to build a budget around any situation. I charge for only what you ask for and create the quotes/total based on that. And always happy to make changes when needed, there’s always areas that can be amended to make goals possible in production.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
Whatever you envision, I create! That is my only goal. No ego, happy to provide ideas and options but my goal is figuring out exactly what you want to see in the end and making sure I create it in the best way that works for you.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
College, Interning, assisting the greats, a lifetime of professional modeling and acting with the worlds biggest names, and studying under legends like Bruce Weber and Steven Klein thanks to my modeling career.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I actually started as a model and an actor. In college for film at UNCW I studied film production along with acting and fell in love with it as well.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I have done just about every single type of photography job at this point! I have never said no and believe the more variety I have in my work the more perspective I can bring to it so I’m open to anything!

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
Recently I helped a healthcare company fully get started. I initially produced a photoshoot to get all of the products shot. I hired models and we got everything from product shots to candids super quick so we kept the budget down. Beyond this I helped them by creating a website, layout plan for its future, months of content for social media (gifs, animations, short videos, ads), and as well an advertising and growth plan that coordinated all material strategically using all platforms together. It was amazing to build this from the ground up! It took about 1.5 months.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Make sure to tell them all the details! So many people try to offer cheap prices because they are cutting corners or using cheap equipment. Make sure your going to get what you need out of what your paying for and check the quality you will get in return! If it’s cheap I’m this game there is a reason! Make sure it’s not ones that bites you back in the end.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
What do I want to see/receive in the end. What is the extent of what I want to use it for. What is my budget.
