Q&A

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I like to have a brief discussion about what is needed. I'll ask different questions about the style of photography, who is involved, what they would like to achieve and if they have any examples of other work they would like to emulate.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I'm mostly self-taught but I did attend a 2-year college in Commercial Photography. I also enjoy taking refresher courses online to stay up to date with current techniques and/or new trends that pertain to the field.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I became interested in photography when I was very young (11 years old). My father showed me the basics back in 1992 and photography has been an important part of my life ever since.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
-Professionals needing headshots for company websites/LinkedIn profile - Families - Children and Newborn - People needing photos of their pets - Newlyweds

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
What style of photography they would like. Also, it's good to know where the photos are to be taken. "Location, location, location!" It's important to know because it then helps in knowing what type of equipment could be needed (e.g. a flash for indoor photography if no good amount of natural or artificial light is available or a tripod, telephoto lens, etc.)
