How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
My journey into wedding photography started alongside my father, a seasoned photographer whose passion for storytelling inspired my own. I began as his second shooter, quietly learning the flow of wedding days — from the smallest candid glances to grand celebrations — while helping him capture each moment from new perspectives. Working with him at dozens of weddings taught me not only how to shoot with intention, but also how to refine and elevate every image in post-production. I gained hands-on experience editing with Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop, developing a clean, true-to-life style that enhances natural beauty and preserves authenticity. Whether correcting lighting, perfecting tones, or creating timeless edits, I learned how essential post-processing is to telling a complete visual story. These early experiences laid the foundation for Petal of Light Photography — a brand built on heartfelt connection, artistic integrity, and an eye for both detail and emotion. Every couple has a unique story, and I’m honored to capture it with care, both behind the lens and in the editing suite.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I’ve worked with all kinds of awesome people — engaged couples, newlyweds, graduates, families, and folks celebrating big moments in their lives. Whether it’s a dreamy wedding, a fun graduation shoot, or a special event, I love getting to know my clients and making them feel comfortable in front of the camera. No matter the occasion, I’m all about capturing real moments and good energy.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
My biggest advice? Don’t be afraid to ask questions! A good photographer will help guide you through the process, make you feel comfortable, and be clear about what’s included in their packages. Lastly, go with someone you vibe with — you’ll be spending important moments with them, especially on your wedding day or during big life milestones. The right fit makes all the difference in how natural and confident you’ll feel in front of the camera.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
1. What kind of photos do you want? (Candid, posed, artistic, documentary-style, etc.) 2. What’s your budget and what’s most important to you? (More hours? An album? Fast turnaround? Sneak peeks?) 3. Do you have a date, time, and location in mind? This helps us check availability and plan ahead. 4. Will it be just you or are others involved? (Couples, family, wedding party, pets?) 5. What kind of vibe do you want for the shoot or event? (Laid-back, romantic, fun, elegant, etc.)
