Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
I consider the value of my client's time and choosing me to be their photographer. There should be a return on investment like any industry. My prices support my family and the business growth to continue to better provide for my clients.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
Usually, the client will have an example or idea in mind. I listen with the intention to create the visual to the concept that best works for their needs, not mine. I operate in a professional business manner where every booked client receives a formal contract before the shoot (even same day), descriptive invoice, speedy return of finished images, and payment plan options when needed. Everyone deserves quality photography at price they can afford. I appreciate that clients value my time as much as I work hard to provide in a timely manner regardless of the size of the job.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I have a BFA in photography and graphic design from The University of Texas at San Antonio. In the late 90s I started Gonzales Creative and have since worked as a commercial artist for festivals, and college & pro sports teams. Through product & fashion photography, I have developed my branding work before the buzzword coined.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I learned to print photographs from my father then studied art in college to earn a Bachelors of Fine Arts. I’m still exploring film and digital media to learn as these dynamic mediums evolve.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
My experiences have taken me from small businesses, art galleries, advertising agencies, trade publications, cultural arts, and a countless number of amazing families. I love what I do, and enjoy making friends from my clients. This isn’t a job, it’s my life.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Never let a creative tell you what you want... your the best art director. Tell them what your looking for and ask them lots of questions to make sure you have the final image you want. A professional creative will listen to their client.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Don't be shy, don't think they won't get your idea. Share your goals and ideas with the creative. A good creative listens, and learns from their client.
