Hello! My name is Rachel and I am a photographer in Los Angeles. I specialize in baby and family photography, and I also do events, birthdays, showers, weddings, engagements, portraits, holiday pictures, food photos, architectural photos, nature photos, pet pics, and more! I got my first 35 mm camera from my mom when I was 11 and I never looked back. I am an empathetic, kind person and love to capture the joy and personalities around me. I prefer candid photos and have a documentary style, but I will work with you to provide a mix of candid and posed shots, and whatever else you want. My minimum fee generally starts at $350 for an hour, but I can work with your budget if needed.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Learning about you, your project needs, and your style. I am very laid back and encourage people to have fun and be themselves with minimal instruction and posing.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I did some photo classes back in the day but mainly I have been taking photos for 25+ years.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

My mom got me my first 35 mm camera at 11 and I fell in love.

What types of customers have you worked with?

Parents hiring me for family photoshoots, holiday shoots, and baby photos. I have also done business photos, pet photos, bridal and baby showers, maternity photos, engagements, and weddings.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

I did a photoshoot called Yacht Rocked with my husband and his best friend with them as two guys in a yacht rock cover band. I also did a shoot called Fashun in the Canyon in a beautiful canyon at sunset. Most photo sessions are 1–2 hours; events can be longer depending on your needs.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Go with your gut and make sure you like the style and spirit of the work you see. Never work with anyone who's unfriendly!

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

Where do you want to take photos? The location should mean something to you. Make sure you consider your home as a location—home sessions are always so sweet and meaningful for families.
