Introduction

I believe that photography offers a magic ability to capture a special moment. That is always my aim when working for my clients, whether it's getting a shot of a sweet moment shared between a newly engaged couple or the big "I do"! I have 15 years of photography experience in subjects ranging from wildlife and landscapes to graduate portraits and weddings. No matter my subject, my goal is always capturing the truest essence and the feeling behind a memory.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
I calculate my pricing based on the amount of time that I will be hired for your photoshoot. I require a $100 non-refundable deposit at the time of booking to reserve your date. The remainder of your payment is due before the final photo gallery is delivered.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
When working with a new customer, I like to correspond with them to discuss their desires for the shoot. I like to know as many details as possible so I can prepare adequately, and I also want to know their preferences so that we are both as happy as possible with the end result. Ultimately, I want the photos to portray the essence of the person and event that I'm photographing. So I want to get to know my clients to make sure that essence comes through.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I was trained early on by my father, who was also a professional photographer. I went on to take some photography classes in college, and I am still constantly working to further my knowledge and training by attending online conferences, sending photos to review boards, and more.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I've been behind the lens since I was a kid! My dad was a professional photographer and taught me the basics early on. It wasn't long before I was hooked. I started my business 15 years ago and have loved all the places it's taken me along the way.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
All types! I love that this business allows me to get to know people from all walks of life.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
I recently photographed a small wedding at a park for a young couple. Although it was a small ceremony, everyone was dressed to the nines and was overjoyed to be there for the bride and groom. The bride's life-long best friend/maid of honor came early and we did a mini photoshoot for the two of them in addition to the photos of the bride and groom and family. It was so much fun! The photos turned out so cute and I loved seeing everyone celebrating the happy event.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Ask questions! It's in everyone's best interests to be on the same page. Get to know your photographer and their style to make sure that it's the right fit for you.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
What do you want from your photos? Are you looking for more traditional posed photos or photos that are more candid and natural? What photographic style do you like- light and airy, bright and colorful, dark and moody? Knowing more specifics about what you want at the beginning will help you find the right photographer.
