Introduction

"WE DO NOT REMEMBER DAYS, WE REMEMBER MOMENTS" -- Cesare Pavese LIFE IS A SERIES OF FLEETING MOMENTS THAT FLOW LIKE A POWERFUL SWIFT CURRENT: Moments so numerous they often stream by too quickly and seizing them becomes almost impossible. We navigate those currents & capture those decisive moments to tell an unique story. We are Urban View Photo, Frank Villafañe & Rose Rios, signature photographers. Our images have been awarded, published and currently showcased on the web and in print, in universities, offices and homes across the greater United States. Our Mission is simply to tell the story... The story of your family, your home, your business, your company - your MOMENTS. Life changing events, accomplishments or just the simple pleasures of living - we are dedicated to capture and preserve these unique, once-in-a-lifetime milestones...and make them last forever. The more effectively we tell the story the more compelling the story becomes... LET US TELL YOUR STORY. Frank & Rose, Photographers Urban View Photo Hablamos su idioma.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
I typically work on an hourly basis with a fixed rate. Depending on the job, I also have day and half-day rates, for projects that fit within a four hour or 8 hour timeframe.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
All the time...I currently work with another NJ professional photographer, and I invest in continuing education via online courseware, Adobe, Kelby, etc.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
On a weekend with a D5100 and Photoshop...I fell in love with the images I produced with a "professional" camera.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Architectural exteriors & interiors, both commercial and residential; events; headshots. Most of the jobs are architectural, but I have sold quite a number of prints of my personal work (cityscapes and street scenes).

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
George Street Playhouse and the New Brunswick Cultural Center commissioned one of my images for their "Our Town" commercial publicity campaign. Along with that, one of my images from an event I shot in New Brunswick made the cover of NJ Municipalities magazine.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Look at their work...if it resonates with you, they you've found your photographer. It is a very subjective thing.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Photography is art...it is not a commodity. What differentiates each photographer is his/her "voice" or style - i.e. how he/she interprets a scene and captures the image they've conjured in the mind's eye, so to speak. As Ansel Adams stated, "You don't take a picture, you make it".
