Introduction

After almost 30 years in Charlotte, NC I decided to move to my hometown of Paducah, KY to be near family and slow down (just a bit)! With over 250 photo shoots over the last three years under my belt, I’m ready to share my knowledge and passion with you! And, you get big city quality at small town/budget pricing. Hiring a photographer doesn’t have to break the bank. In fact, it’s silly not to invite me to those special and important moments in your life! At Gray + Howard Studio, I never know what the day is going to look like and we’re OK with that. In fact, I embrace it! I may be photographing your family celebration, your headshot so you can grab that dream job, your favorite restaurant’s new menu dishes or a fabulous kitchen or bath restoration that’s just been completed. I love the chaos and unpredictability of being a creative photography service that is always learning and finding great joy in the variety of discovery.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
While I have an hourly rate, it truly depends upon what your goals are for my services. We will discuss openly and decide together on a price before any contract is done or retainer is requested.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
Lots of texting and phone calls if necessary. Sometimes I’ll send samples for you to look at and whatever is needed so that you will feel comfortable at the photo shoot and get the product that you are looking for at the price you have budgeted.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I have over 30 years of marketing experience and 10 years as a photographer. I have been told I have a great eye for composition, but what I’m really known for is my personality that makes everyone feel comfortable and truly sometimes enjoy having their photo taken for the first time ever!

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I’ve always been interested in photography, but it became my passion when I went to Africa on three mission trips and saw the beautiful sites and people. Ask to see some of my photos. I’m very proud of the work I did over there.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Everyone from a graduate looking for their first headshot, to Fortune 100 companies, non-profits and families of all shapes, sizes, demographics and religious backgrounds. I am a LGTBQ ally, as well as a believer that everyone has a right to the freedoms they are looking for.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
The most expensive price is not the best, nor is the cheapest the worst. Look for the personality of the photographer, how quick they got back to you, answered your questions and made you feel from the “get go”.
