What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

In some cases, a client may wish to cancel the shoot and request a refund of the deposit. Unfortunately, I do not offer deposit refunds, as a portion of that payment goes to the Thumbtack platform as a fee for your request. Additionally, this is a common policy among most vendors, as the deposit serves as a confirmation of your genuine intent to move forward with the photoshoot.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I usually suggest scheduling a call right away so we can go over all the details and also have a chance to get to know each other. After that, I document everything and send it in our Thumbtack chat — that way, none of the important information gets lost.

What types of customers have you worked with?

Most of my clients are truly the best — very respectful and thoughtful people who value my creativity and the effort I put into my work. In return, I do everything I can to deliver results that leave a lasting impression and create the most positive memories of working with me.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

If I were in the client’s position, I would request a contract and clearly outline every detail — including the location, time of the shoot, and even preferred attire for the photographer. Doing so helps ensure that both parties are fully aligned and can work together to achieve the best possible results.
