Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
It's a starting point, each project is different and the those particulars may make a job cost more or less. I think a lot of people think you just snap the pictures and email them out but their is a tremendous amount of pre and post production that goes into making a shoot successful.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I am a graduate from the Art Institute and I spent about 10 years assisting for some of the best photographers in Philadelphia.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I know its cliche but I've always wanted to do photography and it's just been a life long passion.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
everyone from reality TV stars, to brides, to small business owners to corporate executives and art directors.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
We did a portrait of law enforcement officers from every branch of state law enforcement. We brought in some really exciting equipment, a swat armored transport and a helicopter and photographed all the officers in front of the vehicles. It took a couple of hours to get all the vehicles in place and light the scene and shoot the scene.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Hire me ;-)

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Clients should ask themselves is the scope of the work they need done in line with their expectations and their budget? If you need someone for 12 hours and want 4 star premium service but are only on a 1 star budget. You should think about adjusting something either expand your budget or find a way to cut back the time or settle for a more simplified level of service. If someone is offering you a deal that's too good, it's a good sign they don't know what they are doing or that they are going to RIP you off or just mess up the job. I personally would rather have a simple service done well than a premium service done poorly or rushed.
