Introduction

I take a personal approach and try to get to know my clients. I photograph children, adults, and families, as well as provide Corporate Headshots for Professionals. I will take my lighting to your location and create an outside studio to show you at your best in the environment you choose. Photographing all kinds of people, in all walks of life. It is a great pleasure in photographing people at their best and in happiest of times. I also offer a 10% discount to retired and active duty military, Fire Fighters and Police.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
I generally charge $300 per hour plus Maine State Tax of 5.5%. If photographs are to be delivered out of the state of Maine, no tax is charged. Commercial Photography is charged by specific job requirements and photo usage. Families may incur additional charges for more than 5 individuals, especially if small children and pets are involved. I may request a small add-on when travelling more than an hour from Auburn, Maine.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I like to discuss my customers specific needs and desires and tailor the photo session to them.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I attend seminars, and lectures from leaders in the field. Being a member of the Professional Photographers of America, affords me the opportunity of continuing to learn from their library of videos and instructional material, as well as their annual convention.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I love people, and I love photography. I started taking travel photos many years ago when I first enlisted in the U.S.Army and was sent to Korea. I have had a camera with me ever since.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Head shots (Business and Modeling), Weddings, Senior Portraits and Special Events. I have also photographed Models on the runway during several Fashion Shows and Contestants at several Pageants. I have had the privilege to photograph President George H.W. Bush and First Lady, Barbara Bush, as well as their granddaughters Barbara and Jenna.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Ensure they are Professional Photographers. Membership in Professional Photographers of America (PPA) and their local affiliate organizations, such as Maine Professional Photographers Association (MPPA) are good indicators. Also take a good look at the previous work, in several different areas. Ensure the photographer has liability and business insurance.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
You are not purchasing a photograph, you are purchasing my expertise, as well as the use of my equipment and insurance to make sure you are protected. It takes much longer to produce memorable photographs than the few minutes you are in front of the camera.
