Q&A

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
Once a client expresses interest in working with me, I will contact the client and we can discuss the details of the client's needs. Depending upon the photo session type, I will send on an intake form that allows the client to further express their needs and desires for the look and feel of the photo session. Once the details of the photo session are settled (time, place, type, and price) we will both sign a contract confirming all the details. On the day of the photo session I will meet you at the location and we will have a great time making excellent photos together! After the photo session, my typical turn around time for photos is three weeks. Once the photos are done I will upload them to a private online gallery for the client to download.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I have a Bachelor's Degree in Art: Photography from Montana State University.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
When I was six years old I told my mom I was going to be a photographer and live in Montana. Well, I lived in Montana for 11 years and have been doing photography ever since. It's in my blood and my method for understanding the world.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Corporations, small businesses, individuals, couples, and families.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
I got to do some great environmental portraits of a small restaurant owner and proprietor for a magazine out west. Great subject, fun content, and loved working for a niche magazine. The whole project, from photographing through processing to delivery, took about two weeks.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Take the time to make sure that the photographer you are looking for matches your style. Similar to a tattoo artist, you want to make sure your photographer's aesthetic matches your vision.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
What is my vision/concept for this photo session? Does my vision match this photographer's style? How many photos do I need from this photo session? If a commercial job, what type of/duration of license do I need?
