Introduction

I have 16 years of experience as a professional portrait photographer including ten years in Los Angeles where I specialized in actor headshots and business portraits. Now that I'm located in Haslett near East Lansing, I take all sorts of portraits including senior and graduation photos. If you are in need of a local photographer with a studio or who can travel to your location, reach out and let's discuss options.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
I have specific rates on my website but I often adjust my rates to fit the needs of my clients. Do not hesitate to make a request and let me know the budget for your project.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I'm always open to discuss options, offer advice and answer questions. You can text me during reasonable office hours

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I have been taking photos my whole life and have been working as a professional headshot / portrait photographer since 2009

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I grew up in my father's darkroom. Everything is digital now, but I still have the same passion for photography I did then.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I am a headshot photographer for actors, a portrait photographer for business professionals and families and an event photographer for magazines, businesses and private parties.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
I recently had the honor of taking family portraits for a man in the military who is about to serve in Afganistan. It is humbling to think of his family looking at the photos I took as they wait for his return. I can't wait to take photos of the celebration when he gets back.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
You are already ahead of the game by using Thumbtack and shopping around. After reviewing all of your options, I highly recommend messaging the photographers you like best. Ask questions about the quote and inquire about your options. There may be opportunities that become available because you asked.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Do not focus on the rates you are offered. Instead, ask specific questions of the professional whose work you like the best.
