What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing reflects the quality and experience I bring to each project. I offer clear, upfront rates with no hidden fees. While I don’t usually offer discounts, I do provide customized quotes based on the project’s needs. Also, if you’re reaching out through Thumbtack, keep in mind that they charge vendors a fee for every message sent—so serious inquiries are always appreciated
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Typically I try to set up a brief phone introduction to get a good understanding of project, followed by image examples to visually lock in a mood.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I studied photography and lighting in college and have years of hands-on experience working in the field. Beyond that, I’ve learned a lot through real-world projects, collaborating with other creatives, and businesses constantly refining my craft on both photography and video productions

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I worked as a gaffer and photographer for Dream State, a high-energy hockey show at the Xcel Energy Center. My role involved shaping the lighting to enhance the cinematic atmosphere of the intro sequence, ensuring the visuals had the right impact both on camera and in the arena. I collaborated closely with the lighting director and production team to craft dynamic, well-balanced lighting setups that complemented the fast-paced nature of the show. As a photographer, I also documented key moments of the production, capturing the behind-the-scenes energy and final execution of the intro. The project required a fast turnaround and precise coordination to bring everything together seamlessly, making it an exciting challenge to work on.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
When looking to hire a photographer, start by carefully reviewing their personal website or social media portfolio. Pay close attention to their style, composition, and the overall feel of their work. Ask yourself: Does this artist’s vision align with the type of work I want to be a part of? A photographer’s past work is the best indicator of what they will create for you, so it’s important to find someone whose aesthetic and expertise match your needs. Don’t hesitate to reach out and discuss your project to ensure they’re the right fit
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Before reaching out to a photographer, think about these key things to make sure you get the results you want:
What’s the goal? – Is this for personal use, a brand, marketing, or something else?
What style do I like? – Look at their work and gather inspiration to match your vision.
What’s my budget? – Have a rough idea of what you're willing to invest.
What do I need? – Digital images, prints, retouching, or specific formats?
Where and when? – Know your preferred location and timeline.
Any extras? – Do you need styling, makeup, props, or a team?
How will I use the photos? – Social media, website, ads—this can affect pricing and licensing.
Having a clear idea of these things will make the conversation with your photographer way smoother and ensure you’re both on the same page!
