Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
We offer both outdoor and indoor photography packages. We can either travel to our clients if they have a special spot in mind for their photo session, or they can come to our farm. We have almost 11 acres of gorgeous farmland with many different places to take stunning photos. We also now have an indoor portrait studio!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
When meeting with new customers we like to get to know their style and tastes when it comes to the type of photograph they want. This enables us to take the best photos possible for our clients.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
We have taken several online classes to learn how to take pictures, including making sure the lighting is right, the settings on the camera are perfect and the editing process goes smoothly.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
We started photography as a hobby about 5 years ago and slowly over time it turned into our passion and we turned that passion into our business.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
We have worked with many different types of clients. We have taken pictures at large events like family reunions and weddings, and we have also taken individual portraits and love taking pictures of horses.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
We recently took a job doing a photo shoot on a farm with two amazing young ladies and their horses. Some of the pictures are on our website, but there were so many good ones that it was hard to choose which pictures to show. Equine photography can be quite tricky, especially if you want action shots, but overall the shoot took about 2.5 hours (with a couple of wardrobe and horse changes!) and was so much fun!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
While some prices might seem high, keep in mind that this is an investment. You will have these pictures hanging in your house or decorating your mantle forever. These are not just pictures, these are memories and keepsakes. They are the special moments that you want to hold onto, they are the moments when you can look back, see and remember how small your now adult child is. They are a way of remembering our family, because when they are gone, what you are left with is their photograph.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
What is the overall outcome they are hoping to achieve? This is especially important in photography because most people have a set expectation of how they want their final project to end up and it is extremely important to communicate that idea with your photographer so we can make your dream a reality. We are able to do many things, we are able to capture many moments, however, we unfortunately cannot read someones mind to make their idea into reality.
