Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
Please contact me directly to discuss your options if I quote you a price that exceeds you budget as I may be flexible depending on factors. I have semi-standard pricing for some types of work, but I quote on a per job basis depending on requirements. I usually charge extra for projects requiring travel over 30 min, depending on the scope of the project. No job is too small.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
The Typical process would be: 1. Check out my work at Thumbtack 2. Connect via text, phone call or video call to discuss your project and budget 3. Agree to work together 4. Sign contract, set a date and make a booking deposit 5. Discuss and prep. for shoot. It can be very frustrating when using Thumbtack, as prospective clients more often than not, do not reply to quotes that take a lot of time, energy and are fee based, meaning that the Photographer must not only expend their energy and valuable time, but also must pay a fee for the lead that is not recouped unless they are hired. So please take the time to at least answer your Photographer via text, email or phone call - it's the very least you can do -thank you:)!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
On-the-job and studying - learned my trade on the job as a freelance photographer based out of the Maine/ NH Seacoast area serving New England (Maine, Boston Area etc), and am also well-travelled, since 2000. Mostly self taught - I've also worked with a few top photographers in my area over the past 15 years, self-studied, taken courses with top photographers and re-touchers / educators.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
My Love of Photography.... started with a Photography Course at a local Art Centre in South Africa at the age of 16, shooting and developing black and white negative film....... I became interested in Nature and Landscape work, and Surfing Photography. Through the years as a journyman photographer, this led me to work in many areas of photography - architectural, portrait, fashion, sport, event and commercial work.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I have worked with businessmen and women, musicians, athletes, models, architects, builders, artists, medical professionals, homeowners, families, pet-owners and more.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Seriously consider hiring me to do your shoot!
