Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
My fees start at $350 for a half hour photo session, and include digital photos via an online gallery. A one hour session is $450

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I like to talk to clients to learn what they envision for their photo session and to let them know what I have found to be the most flattering for my clients.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I have attended the School of Visual Arts, as well as Amy & Jordan Demos education classes and Katelyn James Education (both well known photography educators) and highly successful photographers.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I have always loved photography and once I retired as CFO of our family business I began in earnest my photography education.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I have worked with seniors, brides, young couples, families and newborn babies. I also do head shots and small events.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
A recent project I worked on was Holiday Mini Sessions. I staged an area with a pickup truck and decor and with a small staff photographed over 14 families in one afternoon.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
I would suggest looking at a photographer's website, Facebook and IG page to see their style and determine if that matches up with what you are looking for.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
A client should know what they want a photo session to cover - an engagement session or a party and be able to provide some details as to how many people will be in the photo session and if you are flexible in what time the session starts. For example, I usually work, during the golden hour, the two hours before sunset, for the golden soft light, which is very flattering.
