Although my personal interest spans a variety of styles and subject matter from food to astrophotography, I specialize in lifestyle portraits. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

My pricing varies based on travel, type of project, post-processing fees, etc.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I like to make sure a new client is comfortable no matter what and to let him/her/them know that I value their opinion and creativity. After confirming a set date and time, I like to schedule a time a few days before to speak with them in detail about the shoot and get ourselves excited for it!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I studied arts and entertainment media management at Columbia College Chicago as well as film and photography at Cleveland State University and Visual Design at Cuyahoga Community College.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

I started out of curiosity when I found an old Canon SLR in a re-sale shop in Chicago. My love for photography has grown exponentially since purchasing that old camera!

What types of customers have you worked with?

I have worked with all types of customers from various backgrounds and ages ranging from models/actors to corporate employees, real estate agents, and restaurant managers, to even helping plan a few surprise proposals!

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

Photographing the Milky Way in Ohio. I have a lot of pride in my home state and to be able to show off its natural beauty is an opportunity I am grateful for!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Don't hire a photographer who is only looking to make some quick cash. When someone is doing a job they're not passionate about, it shows in their work. Having an earnest interest in photography makes all the difference in the results.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

Ask about their experience and why they got into photography. It's not an easy field to succeed in but if they show a genuine passion for it then it will show in their body of work.
