Introduction

So, I'm told I have an "eye" for photography. Folks say my pictures reflect them, their children or families better than any images they've had. Company leaders say my work turns industrial images into art. OK, these may be an overly polite compliments, but if you look at my portraits, I think you will see there's some cool connection between the person in front of the lens and me. What I will assure you is that you will get more in quality than you pay for. I am very particular in finishing images.

Q&A

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I continually attend seminars, and look to the net for training and tips.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I have had the pleasure of photographing families, and individuals. In the past year I took pictures of families so they could capture their kids before they got too old. I took some images of pregnancies, and the babies that followed. I was hired by a school to take headshots/portraits of their employees, and to chronicle kids in their daily activities. Mercyhurst University allowed me to capture the events at two of their culinary lunches. A candidate for office hired me to do some campaign pictures. And of course, family and friends that wanted pictures. High school seniors hired me to take their senior pictures. It's been a fun year. I love working with people.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Let's talk about what the image in your head looks like. Where is it? Who's in it? What's the mood? On the other hand if you want me to just take the picture my way, I enjoy that freedom too. Unless it's a special occasion or event, wear solid colors in casual form fitting clothes. Try to plan for a morning or evening shoot if outdoors. The light is great at those times.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
1. Why am I hiring someone to take these particular pictures? Would a smart phone do the job? Or is this a special event or occasion that a professional could better handle? 2. When would be the best time for those involved? 3. Where is the best location for the session? 4. What do I want/expect the final product to look like? 5. Is this in the budget? Is this special enough to warrant the expense? Might I have buyer's regret?
