Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
My pricing is straightforward and reflects the quality, experience, and personalized attention I offer each client. Standard sessions start at $300, with tailored packages available for proposals, weddings, branding, and family shoots. A 50% retainer is required to secure your date, and the remaining balance is due on the day of the shoot. Travel outside Charleston may include an additional fee. I occasionally offer seasonal promotions or complimentary engagement sessions for wedding bookings.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I begin by learning about the client's vision, preferences, and occasion — whether it's a proposal, wedding, branding, or family session. We discuss location, outfits, timeline, and mood, often with reference photos. I guide clients through preparation and aim to create a relaxed and confident atmosphere during the shoot. Afterward, I deliver an online gallery within 7–10 days, with options for retouching, prints, and albums.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I’ve completed advanced photography workshops in New York and Los Angeles with top industry professionals, focusing on editorial lighting, posing, and storytelling. I also continually invest in education related to editing, color grading, and client experience. My background in visual arts and years of hands-on shooting have shaped my clean, emotional, and timeless style.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I began my journey over a decade ago through a deep passion for storytelling and visual art. What started as a hobby quickly evolved into a profession as I photographed events, portraits, and editorial projects. After moving to Charleston, I found my niche in weddings, proposals, and branded content — combining emotion, elegance, and artistic flair in every frame.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I’ve worked with a wide range of clients — from couples celebrating engagements and weddings, to high-end real estate agents and boutique business owners in need of branding content. My clients value authenticity, aesthetics, and a calm, professional presence. I’ve photographed everything from intimate elopements to large weddings and commercial campaigns for lifestyle brands.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
One of my recent favorite projects was capturing a surprise proposal in Downtown Charleston. We coordinated every detail in advance, from timing to location logistics, and the moment was filled with raw emotion and joy. The actual shoot took about 1.5 hours, but the planning process began a week earlier. It was incredibly rewarding to help create lasting memories and deliver a gallery that the couple absolutely loved.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Make sure the photographer’s style aligns with your vision. Ask to see full galleries—not just highlight reels on social media. Communication is also key: a professional should guide you through the process and help you feel comfortable, especially if you're not used to being in front of the camera.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
What is the purpose of the shoot (engagement, family, branding, etc.)? What kind of atmosphere or mood do you want to capture (e.g., candid, editorial, timeless)? Do you have a specific location or outfit in mind? What do you plan to do with the final photos (print, social media, keepsake)? Being clear on these points helps us plan more effectively and create results that feel personal and meaningful.
