Introduction

I have been working in international magazine publishing for 30 years and my passion is photography. I put photography on the back burner for the last few years but I am now back to booking shoots. Working with magazines has allowed me to develop an eye for photography and I love to create dreamy photographs. Making sure that my clients feel comfortable and relaxed in front of the camera is very important to me and my sessions are centered around body positivity, kindness, and a sense of humor. If I have availability, I will work on a sliding scale with clients who are not able to afford my full rates.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Asking a lot of questions and connecting to make sure that I will take photos that the customer absolutely loves!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I studied photography at the Art Institute as well as Parson's in NYC (now called the New School).

How did you get started doing this type of work?

I started over 30 years ago when I was working at a local newspaper in Miami, FL.

What types of customers have you worked with?

I have worked with so many different people and I especially love non-traditional shoots.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

I was approached by someone who wanted a body positivity session and I was thrilled with the outcome of the shoot and that my customer was thrilled with her photos. The session took two hours.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Make sure you love the style of your photographer! If you like posed photos, don't go to someone who specializes in editorial style photos, or vice versa. Make sure your photographer understands what you are looking for. It's very important for me to connect with my customers because if they feel comfortable with me, it will show in their photos.
