Introduction

You are one step closer to your beautiful photographs! You’ll simply enjoy this experience. I grant to all of my clients the luxury of knowing they are safe, secure and stunning during the photo session. I'm a member of the Professional Photographers of America and the Photographer’s Association of Chattanooga. I’ve been privileged to have my work published in such journals as "Forks Over Knives", "Business Jet International" and "Floor Trends" magazines. I'm honored to have been recognized by Trip Advisor with both Senior Photographer and Top Photographer designations. I've received over a dozen awards from the ViewBug online community as well. I’m really looking forward to exploring ways in which you can best be presented to your clients, community, family and friends! Please keep these key points in mind: •If you are under 18 years of age, please have your parents or guardian make arrangements for our photo session. •Real Estate Agents must confirm availability of the residents prior to hiring a photographer for the property. •Please be aware that I am available to serve you six days a week. (I am unavailable on Saturdays.)

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
I’m not interested in becoming rich. I am first and foremost an artist. I simply make sure that my expenses are covered and that I’m able to pay all of my Thumbtack fees, government taxes, insurance and equipment updates. I do provide discounts for military veterans and family referrals from previous clients. I do add a destination fee of $15 when traveling to your location if it is over 55 miles from Ooltewah, TN and $25 if your location takes me over 85 miles. It is important to invest in a quality experience. As effective as the app on a smartphone can be, enduring memories are best with the skills of a professional.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
Everything worth doing well begins with a good conversation. Our introduction opens the dialogue which quickly reveals more than time or location. It also unveils a story and theme. Further exploration and discovery soon follow. I so enjoy the creative endeavor with willing and enthusiastic participants. I’m pleased to say that many of my first time clients often become friends.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
Neal Stevens opened my very first class in Photography during my first year of college. That was more than a little while ago. Film has yielded the platform to the digital pixel. I have absorbed everything that I can from a host of classes, seminars, publications plus practice, practice, practice!

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I’ve been responding to the beauty of a moment with a camera ever since college. I used a Pentax K1000. I developed the film in the lab. It was just all so intoxicating. As technology has advanced the tools become more “techie”, but the basic elements have not changed. The careful eye, the steady hand and the elegant moment dance together as the perfect photograph emerges. Frankly, I’m still addicted to the whole process. My “high” comes to fruition in the satisfaction of each client’s glee in response to the first view of their photographs.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Frankly, I’ve been blessed with an overwhelming list of recent clients. I’ve enjoyed collaboration with TV stars, beauty contestants, merchandise professionals, families, award-winning musicians, churches from many affiliations, civic clubs, educators, and students announcing recitals or graduation. I’ve also been privileged to photograph infants, children, and mothers-soon-to-be, but no one exactly like YOU. I’m looking forward to collaborating with you very soon!🤗

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
There is something that happened not long ago that will always be cherished in my memory. A family traveled from out of our region to spend time in the beautiful mountains not far from our area. They timed their excursion around the first birthday of their newest addition. I was honored to be the portrait photographer for this grand occasion. During the ninety minute session it was apparent that this was a family who were crazy about each other! It was easy to capture their love in each and every portrait. I’m honored to report that they have scheduled me to join them again this summer.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
There are a lot of photographers in the area. Select one with whom you really connect. It may be one with extensive experience In the particular kind of photography you seek or not. Check out their reviews from previous customers, their scheduled availability and then go with your instinct. That will be the photographer with whom you are most likely to see “eye to eye”.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
As Stephen Covey suggests in his epic work “The 7 Habits of Highly Successful People”, clients should “Begin with the End in Mind”. Describe to me as early as you can what you want to have as a result at the end of our collaboration. Keep me updated as inspiration strikes throughout the process and then ask me how I can get you there. Don’t weary in your creative pursuit. I will do everything that I can to get you to the fulfillment your vision. It’s important to inquire what procedures have they incorporated to keep you healthy and safe during the portrait session.
