Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
My prices are listed by job type. When you are officially ready to book, I ask that you make a deposit to save the date, this way we are both committed to the shoot! If anything should come up, we can totally reschedule. The deposit will be deducted from the total, which is due when I have your gallery ready for you!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
When someone contacts me for a shoot, I like to have them fill out the contact info on my website. This way we can start the process of booking and get a vision of what they want for their shoot.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I find education to be a very important part of my business, I would go as far to say it's even more important than my gear. Education is what has helped me understand lighting and how to create art. I've always had an eye for it, but it wasn't until I understood it, that I was able to take my photography to the next level.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I have been a hobby photographer for 12-13 years and decided that it was time to make my dream of being a full time photographer into a reality!

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Couples, families, seniors, weddings etc.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
I love to work with people and photographing their story. It's always a highlight see someone go from feeling awkward in front of the camera, to loosening up and having fun!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Look for someone who has photo examples of the style you want! Not all photographers will have the same editing style, if you are going for light and airy vs. moody, make sure that is what you are seeing on their social media etc. A good photographer will deliver consistently with their other work.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
I answered this partially to the above question. Make sure you are looking at photo examples of their work so that you can know what type of photographer they are, this goes for their style of posing/editing style. This way you will not be expecting something that they do not provide. Photography is an art form and no two photographers will create the same type of work. You want to make sure you are getting the best representation of your story! It would also be great to ask your photographer for styling advice and if they help with posing. Most photographers have fun ways to get your to loosen up, this way your pictures will look genuine instead of awkward and stiff. My goal is for you to leave feeling like you had a fun experience!
