Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
I start at $225 for a photo session up to 30 minutes with all digital images and photo release. Prints are available for purchase and are highly recommended to make sure that they are exactly the same as the digital copies. Weddings and special events over 30 minutes have custom pricing and start at $300.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
Once I am hired to photograph, I will email the client with a questionnaire to get detailed information about the event. We can then continue to email/call back and forth until everything is set and agreed to. Once a date and time is set, I will send an invoice for the photoshoot and once payment is complete, the photoshoot will be booked!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio with a Bachelors of Fine Art in Studio Art concentrating in Photography and Printmaking. I also have a minor in Art History. I am constantly educating myself on the latest software updates and newest editions of equipment available to allow for the best images possible.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I have always gravitated toward photography, ever since I was little. I took a photography class in highschool that included darkroom work as well as digital and fell in love with it even more. Once I went to college, I decided that this profession was calling my name and had to dive in 100% to truly be happy!

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I have worked with just about every type of client possible, but mostly work with high school seniors, couples and families.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Really take a look at the work they produce and make sure it is similar to your taste and what you are expecting out of the photographer. Most photographers have a certain style and work best with clients that want what the photographer can give.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
What is the purpose of the photo shoot? Are you going to want prints to hang on the wall and last a lifetime or pictures to post on facebook? What is your budget and does that include prints? Are you willing to let the photographer run the show or do you have a styled shoot in mind? Are they wanting and ready to have the photo shoot done as soon as possible or in a few months?
