Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
Thank you for booking with me! I request upfront a $50 non-refundable reservation fee to hold your appointment and prevent last minute cancellations. Does not apply to rescheduling due to poor weather conditions. I work with natural light, therefore every minute counts! I allow a grace period of 15 min late, otherwise I will charge a $25 late fee or cancel altogether if you are more than 30 minutes late. Also, please be aware that the remaining balance must be paid no later than 24 hours after the shoot and 5% charge per day after that. Pictures will not be delivered until full payment is received.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I generally prefer 2 wks notice, and as much information as possible to ensure the best style and location to meet and exceed your expectations. I always get professionally edited pictures via digital download with full integrity of the photos within 3 days.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
Photography comes naturally to me! I have taken several courses, including college level courses, but most importantly I’m always keeping myself updated with the latest trends and technology.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I have had a passion for photography since the “dark room” days, aka FILM! Remember those days? I love everything about photography, but mainly love the ability we have to freeze time and frame it.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I love everyone! I have worked with various people and backgrounds including special needs, ranging from Headshots to large extended family portraits. The beauty of photography is finding and highlighting what makes YOU unique and reflecting that on camera.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
My current project is called #tinylittleheros on Instagram at Sarah Lee Memories. It’s still in the making. It’s my favorite because I am able to capture precious moments with children with special needs. My “tiny little heros” include kids with Autism, BAMS, Celiac, and foster care - adoption. This has expanded my photography skills, as well as my empathy for these sweet kids and their admirable parents!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Do you have a location preference? Is there a unique characteristic or trait you want to portray? Always have a “pop” color. Whatever you want the camera to focus on, whether in general or on your body, the pop color naturally draws your eyes to that area, like your kids, or a scarf on your neck to accent your face rather than an those extra pounds!

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Questions to keep in mind when hiring a photographer are: Do you have a location preference? How many people, children, pets and adults? Are there colors or a style in your home you want to match? Is there a unique characteristic or trait you want to portray? Always have a “pop” color. Whatever you want the camera to focus on, whether in general or on your specific body, the pop color naturally draws your eyes to that area, like your kids, or a scarf on your neck to accent your face rather than an undesired area.
