Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
My pricing is not the highest or the lowest, but fair for the high quality images that I provide. I can accommodate most any request and pricing will vary based on number of hours, travel time/distance and editing time, but I will always price upfront and never add-on after. I’ve also been known to include Premium Canvases with my jobs from time to time😊 I prefer to be paid by credit card from a Pay Pal invoice emailed to the client, but cash and checks are accepted.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I like to have an initial call on the phone to get a feel for who they are, what they are looking for and expect. Depending on the type of shoot, I have a style guide for recommendations on what to wear and expect. I am fun and relaxed, loads of creative ideas and I do things right!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
Started over 30 years ago as an enthusiast but decided to pursue a Professional Level 8 years ago - graduate of the New York Institute of Photography, Amy & Jordan Demos Shooting & Editing, constantly reading photography technique articles and belong to 2 Facebook Photography Groups, but the best thing I’ve continued to do is get experience. I have so many happy clients, some repeat, and continue getting referrals. I’m doing something right - come see what I do!

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
My passion for photography and images led me to pursue a business doing something I love and being able to help others preserve their moments in time. People notice my work and have encouraged me, so I followed my heart!

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Lots of ladies who own their businesses and wanted location images of them working, headshots etc for their websites, Families, Children, Engagement/Couples Sessions, Weddings, Sports, Birthday Parties and outdoor events. I love doing outdoor portrait sessions for couples in the 2 hours leading into sunset to capture those creamy, dreamy light shots.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
My most recent wedding was April 6 and it was moving fast. I met Michelle and Levi thru a referral, did their Engagement photos on the coldest day in February it seemed, up at Peaks of Otter, and they turned out gorgeous. Michelle saw them and said “her heart was full!” I got to help them capture and preserve their Wedding Day, a day they can relive for many years because of my photos. I was there 9 hours, captured everything there was and it was great. Let me help you too!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
See examples of their work, will they guarantee their work.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
What they envision their session to be, their expectations and how they’d treat it if they were the photographer.
