Introduction

I am a photographer based in Virginia Beach. I love working with people on their celebrations, parties, weddings, events, etc. I love so many aspects of photography, and the challenges and rewards it provides. The fondness I have for teamwork, big events, and creativity is still so evident in my photography. My life story and how I came into photography is a windy road, and I'll spare you the details. I was a ski coach for the US Olympic Team when I decided that I wanted to spend more time at home in a warmer climate, get married, and challenge myself in a whole new way. Photography has dared me to confront the world in a much different way and helped me enjoy my surroundings, cope with my fears, and ease (a little) of my social awkwardness :). I truly could not imagine doing anything else! - Andrew

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
I want to tailor a photography to your needs so you're getting what you want, without what you don't. I don't tack on extra fees, so I try to give you my final price upfront and ASAP.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I try to find a mutual understanding of our goals going into the shoot. I want to know their style and what they like so I can implement that into my style.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I have been a successful landscape and action photographer for a decade, shooting advertising images in the outdoor industry. Since moving to Virginia Beach three years ago, that's allowed me to branch out into weddings and families. Meeting new people and becoming a part of the community here has been amazing!

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
For eight years, I coached a US Olympic Team and saw many remarkable feats and places. My love for capturing those moments bred my passion for photography and sharing it with others.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Families, weddings, couples, commercial clients, recent graduates... All types!

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
It's so dependent on what the client needs - from 30 minutes to all day.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Just send a message. Pricing is dependent on timing and workload. A quick message describing what you're looking for can find a great photographer with a similar vision. It's worth it to start a conversation.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
It's good to have a general idea of what you like. Photographers can easily work with what your taste is and make photos you probably didn't think was possible.
