Introduction

Hi there, i'm Naomi! I've been a photographer for many years and have been professionally shooting for four. Photography was my minor in university. I shoot both film and digital; film being my favorite. My photographs are moody, rich, and storybook-esque. People describe my work as fine-arts. I'm not a conventional photographer and I choose visual interest and vulnerability over the current photography trends. I view photography as a way to glorify God's handiwork in nature and in people. If you are looking for a relaxed and authentic experience, please send me a message! When I'm not photographing Appalachia on film, I like to wander through museum corridors, read gothic literature, write letters, be outside near trees and water, and visit with friends.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
I am $250 for a session. Any travel time over an hour for me means an extra $25-50 is added to base session cost to cover travel fees. Any session with me includes shoot time, which is anywhere from 45 minutes to 1.5 hours, my editing time, and 60-80 fully edited, high resolution, professional quality images delivered via digital drobox in 2-3 weeks. Dropbox files retain quality, are water-mark free, and can be downloaded multiple times on a mobile device or computer and saved. Perfect for small or large prints and canvases.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
Please, tell me about you! What brings you joy? What kind of environment are you at home in- city streets? Your kitchen? Deep in the forest? Who do you love? What qualities in photographs matter to you? How can I best serve you and yours?

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I have studied both advanced digital and analog photography at the collegiate level.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I have been photographing professionally for four years, but personally for more than ten years. Photography isn't just my side gig, it's my happy place. On my days off it gets me up at the crack of dawn and up in the mountains for glorious golden hour.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I've truly done a little bit of everything. From shooting historic homes to costumed interpreters to professional ballerinas to car garages to branding for artists to sessions of couples and artists on film, I take joy in the versatility and diversity of this job.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Go with your gut. At the end of the day, it's really not about number of years in business or five star reviews. If you connect with the look, and more importantly, the feel of a photographer's work, that's who you need to book. Period.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
What are you hoping to get out of your session? What boxes must be checked? How are these photos going to be used? Are they personal or professional? What kind of editing and mood are you partial to?
