Introduction

Welcome to my photography services, where capturing moments is not just an art form but a celebration of diversity and inclusivity. As a proud minority-owned business, I offer a unique perspective and a deep understanding of the importance of representation in photography. One of my strengths lies in my ability to use vibrant and eye-catching pop colors, bringing life and energy to every image I capture. This distinctive style adds a touch of boldness and personality, ensuring that your photographs stand out from the crowd and evoke a sense of joy and excitement. Moreover, I specialize in capturing the beauty and essence of people of color. With a keen eye for detail and a commitment to showcasing the rich diversity of skin tones, cultures, and stories, I aim to create stunning portraits that resonate with authenticity and pride. I understand the nuances of lighting and composition that can enhance and highlight the unique features and experiences of individuals from different backgrounds. By choosing me as your photographer, you not only support a minority-owned business, but you also gain a partner who is passionate about celebrating diversity, promoting inclusivity, and honoring the beauty of all individuals. I bring professionalism, technical expertise, and a genuine commitment to capturing moments that matter most to you. Let's embark on a photographic journey together, where your stories come to life through vivid pop colors and the empowering representation of people of color.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
We offer special pricing for repeat clients and for those booking multiple sessions with us. It’s our way of saying thank you for your continued trust and support!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I start by sending a booking link to schedule a call where we discuss pricing, expectations, and scheduling to ensure we're a good fit. If everything aligns, I’ll send a formal proposal link. Once the session is secured with payment, we proceed with the shoot. After the session, clients select their favorite images, and I finalize everything for delivery.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I’ve completed a newborn photography certification and regularly attend photography workshops to continually improve my shooting, lighting, and editing skills. Ongoing education is key to delivering the best possible experience and images for my clients

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I'm Ranjani, founder of Grace Photography PDX. After having my daughter Ava, I fell in love with capturing her beauty through photography. What started as a hobby became a passion, leading me to leave a corporate job in computer engineering to pursue photography full time. Now, I help families preserve their most cherished memories through timeless, heartfelt images.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I typically work with families—starting with maternity and newborn sessions, then continuing as their families grow. Many are working professionals or business owners, which has led me to also offer headshots and product photography for brands that align with my style. Most clients come through referrals and value meaningful images and long-term keepsakes. I’m honored to work with people from all backgrounds and professions.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
Just last week, I worked on a variety of sessions that I loved. I photographed a maternity session for a mom expecting her second child—I did her firstborn’s newborn photos four years ago, and I’ll be capturing her new baby’s session next week. I also did branding headshots for a woman in the wig business and a milestone shoot for a 3-month-old baby. Each session took about 1–2 hours and reminded me how much I value long-term client relationships.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Take the time to find a photographer whose style speaks to you and who makes you feel comfortable. Look beyond just pricing—consider their experience, how they handle lighting and posing, and how they connect with clients. Ask about their process and what’s included. Most importantly, choose someone who genuinely cares about capturing your story, not just taking pictures. Those connections make all the difference in the final images.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Before reaching out to a photographer, think about the type of session you want (maternity, newborn, branding, etc.), your budget, preferred dates, and how you’d like to use the photos (prints, social media, keepsakes). Also consider the style you’re drawn to and if you’re looking for someone to guide you through poses and planning. Knowing your vision helps us create the best experience for you.
