What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I keep my pricing simple and straightforward. I offer discounts to students who pay for the upcoming month's weekly sessions up front. I'm more than happy to work with families or students on a budget. I also offer a free short intro call so we can make sure it’s a good fit before starting.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to learn about your goals—whether you're a beginner or looking to refine your chops. We’ll set up a short intro call to talk through your musical interests and experience. From there, I'll build a custom lesson plan that’s practical, fun, and aligned with what you want to play.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I started with video games like Rock Band, then quickly graduated to real drums—forming my own bands, obsessively watching YouTube drum covers, and spending hours trying to replicate them. That DIY foundation grew into years of real-world experience, playing live on tours across the world and in studio sessions. I’ve learned from doing, and that hands-on, passionate approach is exactly what I bring to my teaching.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started drumming as a 14 year old and never stopped. Teaching came naturally—I began helping friends and bandmates, then took on students between tours. I love breaking things down in a way that’s easy to understand and helping people tap into their own creative voice.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I’ve worked with kids, teens, adult beginners, and even experienced musicians wanting to dive deeper into groove or live performance. Some students are hobbyists, others want to join bands or prep for recordings—I adapt to what each person needs. In this day and age, most live drummers double as Playback Techs - this means they utilize Ableton software to create show sessions. If you're in this position or would like to add this skill to your repertoire, I also offer tutoring or consultation for this.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
One of my adult beginner students—a friend in LA—came in with zero drumming experience but a big idea: she wanted to start a girl band with her friends. Only one of them had ever been in a band before, but she had a great ear for songwriting and a clear vision. Over three months, we focused on timing, creativity, and learning how to lock in with other players. I was lucky enough to get to see her first live show, and watching her come into her own behind the kit was incredible.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Find a teacher who really listens and adapts to you. Drumming isn’t just about playing fast or getting the technique right—it’s about feel, confidence, and actually enjoying yourself. The right teacher helps you build all of that, not just run drills. Confidence goes a long way. If you mess up, do it again—then it’s not a mistake, it’s style.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Think about the kind of music that excites you. Are you hoping to play in a band, record your own songs, or just jam at home for fun? How fast or relaxed do you want our lessons to be? The more I understand your style, the better I can shape our lessons to keep you interested and motivated!
