Introduction

I teach all styles of music, all levels, and all ages of students. I teach how to read piano scores, cord charts as well as how to play by ear. I am friendly and easygoing. I treat everyone with respect including little children. (I believe all humans should be respected). I try my best to create fun and easygoing environment for the lessons. I deeply care about my students and strive to provide the best quality lessons for everyone who studies with me. Please see the below information for the traveling fee. I charge extra traveling fee when I go to the student’s homes depends on how far they are from me. One hour minimum lesson required within 5 miles distance (from South Coast Plaza area). If you are further than 5 miles away from South Coast Plaza area and looking for a teacher who can travel to you, I am not a right candidate. Please don’t contact me if that is the case. I am friendly and easygoing. I love one on one interactions with my students and I am passionate about helping them to become a better musician.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

For the beginners, the process is about the same. I teach all the basic skills. I use “My piano adventure” method. For the intermediate or advanced players, I assess their ability and plan out the lessons according to their ability.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

BA in piano performance from Berklee college of music.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

I have taught piano since I was in college. I often was asked to teach piano when I performed in different places.

What types of customers have you worked with?

I have taught from beginner to advanced level players, of all ages and taught them many different styles of music including classical, pop, gospel, and jazz.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

Teaching piano is my passion. I have been teaching piano over 15 years.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

It is important to get a piano teacher who is properly trained. Many musicians who can play piano can get by without knowing the proper piano techniques but it comes with limitations on how far they can go with their performance ability and there are limitations that you can learn from them in the long run. I believe it is best to get a piano teacher who majored in piano performance or someone whose main occupation is a pianist. and learn the proper techniques from the beginning. Once you form improper habits it is very hard to change it later.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

I offer online and studio lesson. I also can travel to your house with extra fees depends on the area. Travel lesson is one hour minimum.
