I charge $50.00 for half hour lessons and I offer hour lessons at $90.00...

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

We will spend the first few lessons on the right (or bow) hand and develop your sound. Without the correct sound, the left hand is useless...

I was assistant concertmaster of the Orange County Symphony Orchestra, Chapman College Symphony, Chapman Chamber Orchestra, Burgundy Quartet (2nd violin) and am currently 1st violinist in the San Diego Chamber Orchestra and 2nd violinist in the San Diego String Quartet, as well as the solo violinist and mandolinist of the award-winning world beat fusion band Middle Earth Ensemble...

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

I had a "late bloomer", a girl who was a product of the local school system who wanted much more. We started her over completely and remade her technique, redefined her bow stroke and after considerable effort on her part, she is now co-principal violist with the San Diego State Symphony Orchestra...

Meet first and see if the energy is right. Make sure your goals are achievable and the style is what you want...

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

What style of music do they wish to perform? How much time can you devote to practicing the instrument? Where will I practice?
