Introduction

I offer individual instruction at your own pace. Each lesson is packed with scales, exercises and pieces designed to make your piano education personal and fun. I get to see the joy in my students when they have mastered a particularly difficult piece. It is incredible to be on a journey with my students, knowing they are learning and growing. Although jazz is not my training, I am well grounded in chord progressions and improv. For a free trial lesson please call to set up a time. Thank you.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
Many times I have clients with more than one student in the family. I have a tiered rate depending on how many students in the family. 1 student...full price 2 students..$5 discount 3 students..half price.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I attend annual workshops for piano teachers. These are often put on by music publishing companies such as Alfred or Hal Leonard and feature new music and teaching techniques.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I love music and have had lifelong training. Deciding to teach was personal, grown out of a desire to pass along the joy of reading and playing music.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Please be open and honest about your interest in piano. It is an art form and a very individual form of instruction. There is a certain level of commitment required on both sides.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
In any profession there should be respect and courtesy on both sides. That includes scheduling, cancellations, etc. Many people think that piano teachers are not on par with a more respected profession like a doctor, and are willing to skip lessons without notification. Piano teachers work hard to prepare for each lesson and are not treated with as much respect as other professions. Consider that the next time you go to the beach instead of taking your kids to their lessons.
