I have extensive experience in many areas with a Doctor of Music Degree from Yale, and am on the faculty at AMDA and UCLA teaching many genres of music including pop, musical theater, and classical- piano and voice. I love helping people of all levels discover their potential and watching their growth! In vocal teaching- I have helped many singers expand their range, sing with less tension, feel more confident using a variety of techniques I have gathered from many professional singers, studied with the best teachers in Los Angeles and New York, and singers are often shocked how quickly they find more ease in their singing and greater confidence! I am effective at turning on the mix for both male and female voices, and helpful to singers at all stages of their development. I can also provide piano tracks for singers, and can transpose karaoke tracks upon request. I like to split our time between technical exercises and songs. In piano teaching- I am happy to teach both classical and popular styles. For beginning and intermediate students I find the piano adventures series to be especially good for all ages, supplemented with pieces that the students are passionate about. In advanced players, I find that a combination of pieces I suggest and music that excites the student work well! I love preparing my students for the CM certificate of merit evaluations through MTAC, and other competitive events! I am also effective in getting intermediate players to read music faster and more effectively!

I started Teaching Voice in 1985 while living in Glendale, Ca. In between Performing and Touring, I kept a small Studio of students. In 1996, we built a home in West Palmdale. In 2005 we built my Lancaster Studio, which opened its doors in January 2006 and did an Opening Night Event for the Cast of "Beauty and the Beast". I went from "3 to 50 Private Students" in less then 90 days. It has been constant ever since. Many students have gone on to professional vocal engagements, performing in different parts of the country and the world. Some hold recording contracts as well. Many of my students have received full scholarships to the University's of their choice. I've had 2 students with Producer Callbacks to The VOICE, one with a Lead Callback to Hamilton, one with a Callback for Evita (National Tour), two are the winners of the LPAC Scholarship, one currently in China with the Sound of Music Global Tour, one at Disney Tokyo, one attended NYU, five attended Berkley, one at Vanderbilt and numerous other prestigious Colleges. I enjoy watching a student come in with virtually no knowledge of how to sing properly and quickly learn how to implement the techniques I teach. Watching a student succeed is the pleasure I aim for. Music is my life! I love all styles of music and firmly believe EVERYONE CAN SING! I will do all I can to encourage and support aspiring singers and assist those who just need some polishing, as well. I am patient, and I believe in you. I also work with speakers, teachers, actors and voice actors! I am located in southern California and I’m happy to offer in person and online sessions.
